Tech Yourself: Tumblr Anywhere
Like everyone else, I have STUFF TO DO, BABY.
But I wanted to get you going on something today.
There’s a ton of blogging platforms out there, and the reason is, what people want in a blogging platform continues to evolve.
In the Dark Times, when Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, early adopters wanted little diary places to share with their closest friends. Young geeks congregated in small corners of the intrawebs in places like Xanga, which evolved into woefully inadequate blogging hangouts like LiveJournal, whose claim to fame is linking friends up.
Bleh.
You’ve got Blogger, that crashes every ten seconds. WordPress, WHICH I LOVE LIKE MY OWN CHILD because it’s web-pagey and permanent-looking. I blog here on WordPress, and have another WordPress of my own.
I have a Weebly, because it’s an actual website, and it was free. And I wanted to play.
But Tumblr. I’ve got a couple of those, too. Because it’s fluid, and I can post on the go from my iPhone.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO.
You can set up a Tumblr from this app, but I suggest you do it from your laptop. You have more choices. Once that’s done, use your app to post text, links, video, pictures and roam your feed.
Handy.
