tech yourself–the premature birth of iOS6
I’m biting the hand that feeds me today, ladies and gentlemen. Or some body part close to the hand.
Let’s talk iOS6.
I am one of those troglodytes careful people who waits until a new update has a chance to shake out the bugs before downloading. But I’m doing a WRITE YOUR NOVEL WITH YOUR iPHONE workshop at our Kansas SCBWI conference this weekend, (That’s right–me, Jay Asher, and Arthur Levine.) and thought I’d better have screenshots of the new OS in my Keynote slideshow.
Ho. Lee. Cow.
Nothing but crashing and blinking out and stuck downloads and updates. Forget about the maps and losing YouTube.
Oh. And I’ve had to delete and reload my Yahoo email twice, since I updated to iOS6–YESTERDAY.
I do not understand the culture of releasing a half-finished product to the public and worrying about the fixes later. It seems like only a particularly arrogant company wouldn’t care how much they frustrated their customers.
Anybody else having problems with iOS6? TELL ME YOUR SAD STORIES.
